True Screen Size

See device screens at their actual physical size

True Screen Size reproduces device displays at their real-world physical dimensions.

Designed for true-size viewing on desktop

True Screen Size uses your calibrated display to reproduce device screens at real-world scale. A desktop or laptop display provides the space needed for accurate calibration and the intended true-size viewing experience.

How it works

See device screens at their actual physical size

True Screen Size lets you view iPhone, iPad and Mac displays at their real-world physical dimensions directly on your monitor. Calibrate your display once using a standard bank card, then choose a device to see how large its screen actually is or compare two displays side by side at the same calibrated scale.

How does the calibration work?

Web browsers cannot reliably determine the physical size of your monitor. True Screen Size solves this by using a standard 85.60 × 53.98 mm bank card as a physical reference.

Place a card over the calibration rectangle and adjust the scale until all four outer edges match. The same calibration factor is then applied to every emulated display. Keep your browser zoom unchanged after calibration for consistent results.

What does “actual size” mean?

The emulator reproduces the physical dimensions of the active display area rather than simply showing a generic responsive viewport or using the overall dimensions of the device chassis.

This makes it easier to understand the real size difference between devices such as standard and Pro Max iPhones, different iPad sizes, and MacBook displays.

Compare device screens at true physical size

Comparison mode lets you place two supported device displays side by side using the same physical calibration. This makes it easier to see the real size difference between devices such as two iPhones, different iPad sizes, or MacBook displays.

Both screens remain at true calibrated scale rather than being reduced to fit the available space. If a pair is too large to fit side by side, the comparison area can be viewed by scrolling horizontally.

Preview websites at true device scale

Enter a website address in the Website Preview tool to load the page inside the selected device display. You can scroll, click and interact with supported websites while switching between devices and orientations.

The website uses the selected device's responsive CSS viewport and is then displayed at the calibrated physical size of that screen. Some websites prevent themselves from being embedded and may not load inside the preview.

How accurate is True Screen Size?

Physical display sizing is calculated from published display specifications and your monitor calibration. Accuracy depends on completing the calibration carefully and keeping your browser zoom unchanged afterwards.

Notches, Dynamic Islands and similar hardware details are visual references where exact public physical measurements are not available. They do not affect the measured display size.

Supported Apple devices

True Screen Size currently supports iPhone, iPad and Mac displays across current and previous generations, including iPhone Pro and Pro Max models, iPhone Duo, iPad mini, iPad Air, iPad Pro, MacBook Air and MacBook Pro.
